About Me

Personal Winery Tours is locally owned and operated by George Herbert; I am a professional tour operator that has lived in the Walla Walla Valley since 1973. After 50 years here, I have become very knowledgeable about Walla Walla and its world-class wineries.

I operate tours in the Walla Walla Valley, the Red Mountain AVA area near Benton City, WA, and the Rock District in Milton-Freewater, Oregon.

 

I started doing Wine Tours in 2015, but when Covid hit, I took those next two years off for safety reasons. I am back now and specializing in smaller groups, up to 6-tasters. There is a lot more fun to enjoy in smaller groups. I want you to feel special while you and your friends enjoy the day's experiences while not feeling like you are being herded around, as often happens in larger tour groups.

 

My motto states, "We Wine a Little and Laugh a lot!" on my tours in the Walla Walla Valley and the Red Mountain areas.  I work hard to make sure that you have a memorable time.

 

Before doing Wine Tours, I exhibited my skills as a professional photographer of 45 years. I held weekly photo workshop tours for photographers from around the world, in the summer months, starting in 2008. My students and I explored every photo opportunity in the Palouse area in Eastern Washington.
